Fairmont Pacific Rim is an upscale hotel and condominium building in Vancouver. It is located at 1038 Canada Place in Downtown Vancouver. The Southern and Eastern exteriors are wrapped with art installation signs of a Liam Gillick poem.The artwork consists of a running line of repeated text: lyingontopofabuildingthecloudslookednonearerthanwhenIwaslyingonthestreet (lying on top of a building the clouds looked no nearer than when I was lying on the street…) The signage of this phrase is repeated on the lower half of the 48-storey building, demarcating those floors that are occupied by the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. The 2’ high stainless steel letters stand proud of the building’s façade along narrow concrete fins that sharply turn and wrap the building’s most public corner. Galaxie Signs also done all exterior signs include, Channel Letters, Pylon and  stainless steel letters of Gillick poem.
